Lea Brøndal
Lea Brøndal (b. 1992) started playing the cello at the age of 6. She is educated at Det Kgl. Danish Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with Morten Zeuthen, Ingemar Brantelid and Tim Frederiksen. Prior to her admission to the music conservatory, she studied with Nils Sylvest, and during her studies has participated in a long series of masterclasses with internationally recognized musicians including Alisa Weilerstein, Marko Ylönen and Hans Jørgen Jensen.
In 2018, she made her debut from the Soloist class as a member of the Nordic String Quartet, which has made a name for itself - both nationally and internationally - with its award-winning and critically acclaimed CD recordings of Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen's, Peter Heise's and Nancy Dalberg's string quartets respectively.
Lea is an active and sought-after chamber musician, and has performed on a large number of stages and music festivals in India and abroad. She is the co-founder of Momentum Piano Trio, and since 2022 has been employed at Malmö Opera as a solo cellist.
Lea plays a Fratres Silvestre cello from 1835.
