Chamber music – playing together!

Playing chamber music is like having a musical conversation with your friends. Everyone listens to each other, helps each other and creates the music together – and it's both developing and a lot of fun !

During the Festival you will be able to play chamber music in small groups of a maximum of four people (trio or quartet). Each group is led by an experienced professional cellist ,

who help you to understand the music, collaborate better and dare to take your place in the group.

We try to give each group two chamber music sessions during the Festival.

 How do the groups work?

  •  The groups are put together by the festival management.
  •  The music is adapted to age and level.
  •  Groups and sheet music are sent out approximately 3–4 weeks before the Festival , so that you have time to practice your part and be ready to put it together with the other parts.
  •  The groups will be scheduled on the morning of Friday, Saturday and Sunday

 Concerts and gaming fun

Some groups will be able to:

  •  play at one of the Festival's concerts
  •  go away and do a little pop up concert , for example at
    – the library in Höllviken
    – the Omtankens hus retirement home in Höllviken

On these occasions, the group's teacher accompanies the students to the venue,  and plays with or supports the ensemble.

 Why chamber music?

When you play chamber music, you learn things that are different from when you play solo or in an orchestra:

  •  to listen extra carefully
  •  to dare to take responsibility
  •  to play together – for real

 And perhaps most importantly:
Chamber music is one of the most fun ways to make music together with others!

We look forward to hearing you play, listen, laugh and create music together during the Festival.
